Prototype CNC Machinist

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to use and grow their CAD, CAM, and CNC programming skills as a CAD/CAM programmer and CNC machinist with a proactive and growing company.

We are looking for someone to join our team who is willing to own the project from start to finish. You will combine your skills with the latest in CAD/CAM software technology and CNC equipment to help bring parts from concept to completion. (This is NOT a machine operator position!)

Job Requirements

  • Work with department lead, quality, and project manager to engineer the manufacturing process using your experience and company established best practices.
  • Design & build fixtures, set-up CNC machines for secondary ops on prototype castings, machine & finish prototype parts.
  • Program, fixture, and machine parts from metal and plastic billet/raw stock materials.
  • Assist in machining of production tooling components as necessary

Capabilities and Experience

  • Knowledge of CAD design & CAM programming for 3, 4 & 5 axis machining. (3+1 & 3+2 positioning)
  • CAD: Creo, SolidWorks, PowerShape, Fusion 360 & SpaceClaim
  • CAM: PowerMill & Fusion 360
    • ***We are willing to train the right candidate in CAD and/or CAM software! ***
  • Vertical and horizontal milling experience desired. (Haas and Milltronics)
  • Experience with work holding & fixture design for castings.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, inspection concepts, and tools.
  • Self-motivated; Able to work independently with support of team lead.
  • Organized and able to multitask.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Foundry Tool Prep & Finishing

Come work for a recognized leader in the prototype casting industry! We are looking for someone to join our team as a prototype and production foundry tooling finisher. In this role, you will sand, finish and paint CNC machined pattern and corebox tooling to internal specifications. Materials worked with include urethane tooling board, plywood, poplar, iron, and aluminum materials.

Knowledge of body filler application, sanding, bodywork and painting of plastic and metal parts is desired. If you have an automotive prep, finishing, or painting background, THIS IS THE PERFECT JOB FOR YOU!

Pay is determined on experience and skills.

This is a full-time position with daytime hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Be detailed oriented, organized and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Willing to change tasks within the shop as workload necessitates.
  • Experience with hand tools and woodshop equipment.  (Saws, sanders, etc...)
  • Previous auto body prep or painting experience is helpful, but not necessary.

Production & General Labor

We are looking for help in our foundry operation. Duties may include making sand molds, melting & pouring, knockout, grinding and finishing of castings. Must be able to lift up to 75#.

Pay is determined on experience and skills.

Full time position with daytime hours.
